129 persons test positive for COVID-19 in Chitwan



CHITWAN: As many as 129 persons in Chitwan have tested positive for COVID-19 in a test performed at two laboratories in Bharatpur.

A test conducted at the laboratory of Chitwan Medical College on Wednesday confirmed coronavirus infection in 140 out of 479 samples, the hospital said.

Of them, 126 are from Chitwan. The other 14 were from outside Chitwan, according to the hospital.

A test of 149 samples conducted at the laboratory of a government hospital in Bharatpur on Wednesday found infection in three people. All three were from Chitwan.

The test results were made public by both the hospitals on Thursday.

According to the Chitwan District Health Office, the number of infected persons in Chitwan has reached 1,556.

Of those infected, 18 have died in Chitwan and 708 were recovered.
