Two nabbed in Kathmandu with 6.5 kg opium

KATHMANDU: Police have nabbed two people with opium in Kathmandu.

A police team deployed from Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested them from Lolang Height in Tarkeshwar Municipality along with 6.5 kg of opium.

According to SSP Deepak Thapa, the arrested are Dilip Bishwakarma, 22, of Jajarkot in Triveni Municipality-1 and Pramila Raut, 18, of Bhimeshwar Municipality-6 in Dolakha.

They have told police that the seized opium was bought from Jajarkot at the rate of Rs 150,000 per kg.

According to Thapa, they were arrested while trying to sell the opium at the rate of Rs 800,000 per kg in Kathmandu.
