Over 1,000 police personnel infected from COVID-19



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,142 police personnel deployed in different parts of Nepal have tested positive for coronavirus.

Among them, 744 are undergoing treatment at hospitals and isolation centers across the country.

The remaining 398 police personnel have returned home after treatment, said SSP Kuver Kadayat, Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police.

According to him, 201 people are infected at the Police Headquarters, Naxal alone. As many as 79 police personnel are infected in three districts under the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari.

Similarly, 156 people are being treated in Province No. 1; 126 in Province No. 2; 50 in Bagmati Province, 28 in Gandaki Province, 79 in Province No. 5; 16 in Karnali, and 12 in Far-Western Province, said SSP Kadayat.
