COVID-19 kills 4,235, infects 206,509 in past 24 hours globally

KATHMANDU:  More than 206,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus across the world in a single day.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, 206,509 people were infected in the past 24 hours.

With this, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 23,581,613 globally so far.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the virus has climbed to 812,407 after 4,235 died in the last 24 hours.

Of the total infected, 16,078,735 have recovered from coronavirus.

As many as 205,304 people have died from the coronavirus in Europe as of Monday morning. Out of 3,354,741 infected, 1,985,667 have returned home after recovery.

North America has reported 259,439 deaths and 6,943,479 infection cases. Of them, 3,886,904 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, 130,242 people have died from the coronavirus in Asia. Among 6,298,314 infected, 4,980,338 have recovered.

South America has reported 189,047 deaths from coronavirus. Out of 5,764,708 people infected, 4,294,244 have recovered from the virus.

Likewise, 27,831people have died from coronavirus and 1,192,414 have been infected in South Africa. Out of those infected, 909,724 have recovered.

A total of 529 people have died in Australia and Oceania. Out of 27,236 people infected, 21,196 have returned home after treatment.
