KATHMANDU: A total of 262 Nepali migrant workers who were stranded in Dubai Airport were rescued via chartered flight on Sunday.

The Nepal Airlines Corporation’s aircraft repatriated them, it is said.

According to NAC Operation Department Chief Dipu Juharchan, the chartered aircraft landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) carrying these passengers.

The same aircraft had flown to Dubai from Kathmandu carrying 165 passengers.

The returnees were stranded at Dubai Airport after the scheduled flight to Kathmandu from Dubai was postponed on August 18 citing lack of quarantine facilities in Kathmandu.
