460 new COVID-19 cases detected in State 1 and 2



BIRATNAGAR: As many as 460 new coronavirus cases have been found in State 1 and 2.

In State 2, a total of 390 new cases were reported, and two persons died from the infection, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The deceased were two women aged 56 and 31.

With this, State 2 reported 8,910 infection cases and 61 deaths from the virus so far.

The infected persons in State 2 are 139 in Parsa district, 91 in Sarlahi, 60 in Dhanusa, 39 in Bara, 34 in Mahottari, 14 in Siraha, nine in Rautahat and four in Saptari, according to the Ministry.

In State 1, as many as 70 new infection cases including 42 in Biratnagar Metropolitan City in Morang have been found until Sunday evening.

The infected persons are 43 men and 27 women (50 in Morang district, 10 in Jhapa, nine in Sunsari and one from outside the state), according to the Ministry of Social Development of the State.

On Sunday, 25 people were discharged from various health institutions after being cured.

So far, 1,267 infected people have been free of the infection, said the Ministry, adding that 77,156 PCR tests were carried out with 805 in the 24 hours.
