CPN-UML registered at PM Oli’s behest: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has accused Prime Minister KP Oli of being involved in registering a party named CPN-UML.

While addressing a tribute program organized on the occasion of Pushpalal Shrestha’s Memorial Day on Friday, NCP Chairman Prachanda said that the registration of the party has pushed NCP into crisis.

He indirectly accused the Prime Minister of making cadres loyal to him to stage protests across the country in his support.

Prachanda, however, said that he believes that the party will not split.

An application has been filed with the Election Commission for the registration of a party named CPN-UML.

The application has been filed at the time when the party with the name doesn’t exist after the unification between the then CPN-UML and the then CPN (Maoist Center).

It has further fueled the internal wrangling in the ruling party.
