NA initiates probe on youth’s ‘mysterious’ death

KATHMANDU: Nepal Army (NA) has informed that it has initiated the probe over the alleged death caused by one of its member’s mishandling.

Issuing a press release on Friday, NA has said that the news about the death of youth in Chitwan National Park alleged by a NA member has come under its notice and the institution has also initiated a probe on it.

In the statement, the NA has assured that it will offer full cooperation in the investigation initiated by the authorized agency as well.

The relatives of Raj Kumar Chepang, 24, have demanded the action against the NA personnel deployed in the security of Chitwan National Park.

The relatives of Chepang claim that he was killed due to the assault of Nepal Army personnel deployed for the security of the national park.

In the meantime, NA has reiterated that the security institution has been executing its responsibilities as assigned by the government of Nepal and would comply with all regulations of the country.
