KATHMANDU: The Parliament’s State Affairs and Good Governance Committee has submitted a report on Nepal’s Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill in the House of Representatives.

Chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee Shashi Shrestha submitted the report in the meeting of the HoR on Tuesday. Lawmakers will now begin deliberation on the report.

A meeting of HoR held on August 20, 2018 had decided to send the Nepal’s Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill to the concerned parliamentary committee for a clause-wise deliberation.

The Committee has submitted its report after endorsing the Nepal’s Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill by a majority after 22 months.
