Community school teachers contribute Rs 1.5 million to relief fund



WALING: Teachers from 80 community schools and technical schools in Waling have contributed to the relief fund set up by Waling municipality.

They handed over a cheque amounting to around Rs 1.53 million to Waling mayor Dilip Pratap Khand and deputy mayor Kalpana Tiwari to deposit the amount to the fund.

Nepal Teachers’ Association district chapter president and Ranabeer Janahit Secondary School Principal Laxmi Prasad Regmi said the teachers made their contributions to the fund with intrinsic motivation to join hands to the fight against coronavirus.

The teachers from secondary level or equivalent contributed their five-day salary while other teachers donated salary equivalent to their three-day salary to the fund.

Mayor Khand expressed happiness over the proactive contributions of teachers to the relief fund despite their engagement in the prevention and control of deadly virus.
