Coronavirus cases jump to 729 in Gandaki Pradesh

KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases has reached 729 in Gandaki Pradesh after 32 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday morning.

According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, the newly infected are 26 males and six females.

Those diagnosed with the coronavirus are five from Lamjung, seven from Syangja, five from Kaski, nine from Baglung, three from Nawalparasi East and one each from Tanahun, Parbat and Gorkha, informed Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the Spokesperson for COVID-19 Control and Prevention Program of Gandaki Province.

The new cases were confirmed during test at Provincial Tuberculosis Center, Pokhara and Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan.

Sharma said preparations are underway to keep them in the isolation of their respective districts.

Meanwhile, 70 people have recovered from novel coronavirus and one has died.
