Pak launches cyber war against PM Modi and India

NEW DELHI: Security agencies of India have alleged Pakistan’s ISI for an attempt to launch social media campaigns targeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The security agencies say social media messages have been targeting India and Prime Minister Modi in a coordinated effort by the Pakistani intelligence.

An assessment handed to the Indian government, ISI’s effort designed to flood social media with messages fuelling anti-India sentiment, mainly in the Gulf countries.

The security agencies have alleged ISI for spreading false propaganda on ‘Islamophobia’ in India, Indian media reports have said.

The report said that Pakistani deep state has been endeavoring to bring a schism between India and her allies in the Gulf by alleging PM Modi.

Security officials, meanwhile, had seen such a pattern in 2019 when Jammu and Kashmir was placed under communication lockdown.

Pakistan had then made an effort to embarrass India on social media.

Reports also said how Pakistani-funded terror groups made their presence felt on social media even before launching the first attack in Srinagar.

The social media campaign targeting PM Modi has also been driven by engineering circulation of video clips of some incidents of harassment or attacks of Muslims in India. (With inputs from Agencies)
