Rain, thunderstorm forecast in hilly region

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted rains and thunderstorms in the hilly region of the country on Monday.

The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the eastern hilly region and partly cloudy in the rest of the country with chances of rains accompanied by thunderstorms in the hilly region of country due to the western wind, said Bibhuti Pokharel, a meteorologist.

According to Pokharel, the weather will remain generally cloudy with chances of light snowfall in high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

Meanwhile, some parts of the country, including Kathmandu witnessed brief rainfall on Sunday evening.
