Rape-accused Siddha Baba escapes to India

BIRATNAGAR: Rape-accused Krishna Bahadur Giri, popularly known as Siddha Baba, has escaped to India.

According to police, he escaped to India through Jogbani checkpoint.

Giri sneaked into India while a rape case was sub judice against him at Sunsari District Court

The court on December 30 had ordered his release on a bail bond of Rs 300,000 following the conclusion of bail-hearing.

Then, the District Attorney Office had filed a review petition at Biratnagar High Court.

The joint bench of Judges Tilak Prasad Shrestha and Prem Raj Karki was scheduled to hear the case today. Giri left for the court but escaped to India, police said.
