Prachanda-Nepal faction preparing to appoint new Gen Secy



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has initiated preparations to appoint a new General Secretary.

The faction is preparing to appoint a new General Secretary to replace Bishnu Poudel, who has sided with Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Oli.

The Prachanda-Nepal has already ousted party Chairman Oli from the post and picked Madhav Kumar Nepal as the party Chairman.

The faction has also elected Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” the new Parliamentary Party leader.

Meanwhile, half a dozen leaders of the Prachanda-Nepal faction are aspiring for the post of the General Secretary.

While leader Nepal has nominated Bhim Rawal and Beduram Bhusal for the post, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal has proposed the name of Surendra Pandey.

Likewise, Prachanda has proposed Barshaman Pun and Janardan Sharma as General Secretaries.
