Prachanda-Madhav faction in EC claiming authority over the party



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Madhav Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have reached the Election Commission (EC) with the signatures of the majority central members claiming authority over the party.

NCP leader Lilamani Pokharel reached the EC with the party’s official decision taken at the Central Committee meeting held at Karki Party Palace on Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, Pokharel himself had handed over a letter to the EC deciding to take disciplinary action against Chairman KP Oli.

KP Oli faction on Tuesday submitted the decision of reorganizing the central committee and amending the party constitution to the commission.

With both sides claiming the party’s authority, the EC will be compelled to take a decision in this regard.
