Biratnagar airport to be upgraded into ‘international standard’



BIRATNAGAR: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to acquire 20.304 hectares of land to upgrade the Biratnagar Airport into ‘international standard’.

A meeting of the Cabinet of the federal government on November 12 had given permission to the CAAN to acquire 20.304 hectares of land for the expansion and upgrading of the airport.

Earlier, a tripartite agreement was reached on September 6 to upgrade the airport to an international standard and to build a 3,000-meter long runway.
