NCP cadre injured in intra-party factional clash dies

BIRGUNJ: One of the Nepal Communist Party cadre seriously injured in yesterday’s intra-party clash has died on Friday.

According to District Police Office Parsa, the dispute between former UML and Maoist groups that resulted in a clash yesterday has taken the life of Mukesh Chaurasiya, the party’s Secretary of Bindabasini Rural Municipality.

The groups had resorted to assault when the former UML group blamed the Maoist group for not consulting them and running the party bypassing the minority group.

The clash had started after the oath-taking ceremony in Bindabasini -5, Parsauni Bhata.

Eight persons, including a former candidate for Ward Chairman Mukesh Chaurasiya, were injured badly. Chaurasiya was the Maoist’s candidate in the previous local elections

Mukesh was receiving treatment on a ventilator after the incident.
