Three coronavirus-infected including a sexagenarian die in Sunsari and Chitwan



KATHMANDU: Three coronavirus-infected people including a sexagenarian woman have died in Sunsari and Chitwan districts.

Two COVID-19 infected women have died in Sunsari district on Friday morning.

According to Umesh Mehata, the chief of Health Division of Dharan Sub Metropolitan City, a 54-year-old woman died in the course of treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar and a 60-year-old woman passed away in home isolation.

The 54-year-old patient had been taken to Nobel Hospital after there were no beds at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Similarly, the sexagenarian was doing time in home isolation due to lack of beds at the hospital.

With this, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Dharan has reached 37.

Similarly, a 57-year-old man infected with COVID-19 has died in the course of treatment at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan district.

Originally, from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7, the patient was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night after his condition deteriorated.

He was pronounced dead immediately after his hospital admission, said Dr Nitu Adhikari, the chief of COVID-19 laboratory of the hospital.

He had been staying in home isolation since he tested positive for coronavirus on October 12.
