KATHMANU: A provincial parliamentary party meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is taking place today to resolve the dispute of Karnali Province.
The meeting is taking place at 11 am, according to NCP Parliamentary Party Chief whip of Karnali Province Assembly Sita Nepali.
According to Nepali, today’s meeting will dwell on the no confidence motion filed against Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi.
Nepali claimed the province will itself settle the dispute which could not be settled by the central level.
“The issue will be resolved by the provincial parliamentary party today,” said Nepali, adding, “We are holding talks with the warring parties to narrow down the differences.”
It is learnt that provincial deputy in-charge of the party Yam Lal Kandel who took the lead to lodge the no confidence motion against CM Shahi is abstaining from the meeting.
Earlier, the secretariats of chairman duo KP Sharma Oli, who is also the Prime Minister and Pushpa Kamal Dahal had issued separate press notes contradicting with each other on the Karnali dispute.
