KATHMANDU: Sunrisers Hyderabad has defeated Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match held in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday night.
Held at Dubai Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad reached the target of 155 runs set by Rajasthan in 18 overs at the cost of two wickets.
Hyderabad’s MK Pandey top-scored with 83 runs including four fours and eight sixes off 47 balls and remained not out. Similarly, V Shankar made 52 not out runs including six fours off 51 balls.
In reply, Rajasthan’s JC Archer took two wickets of Hyderabad.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Rajasthan had notched up 154 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
SV Samson made highest 36 runs including three fours and one six off 26 balls while BA Stokes and R Parag contributed 30 and 20 runs, respectively.
Hyderabad’s JO Holder took three wickets while V Shankar and Rashid Khan grabbed one wicket each of Rajasthan.
With this win, Hyderabad is in the fifth position with eight points from 10 games and Rajasthan is in the second last position with eight points from 11 matches.
