Nepal’s COVID-19 tally reaches 31,935 with 818 new cases

Death toll hits 149



KATHMANDU: A total of 818 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the last 24 hours, including 166 in Kathmandu Valley.

With the new cases, Nepal’s coronavirus tally has reached 31,935.

The new cases were detected in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Dolakha, Dhading, Makwanpur, Rasuwa, Ramechhap, Sindhul, Kaski, Nawalparasi (East), Gorkha, Argakhanchi, Kapilvastu, Palpa, Pyuthan, Bardiya, Banke, Rukum, Rupandehi, Rolpa, Jumla, Rukum (West), Achcham, Dadelduhra, Darchula, Bajhang and Baitadi, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Dhanusa, Parsa, Bara, Mahottari, Rautahat, Saptari, Sarlahi, Siraha.

So far, 8,026 samples have been tested through the PCR method for the coronavirus, said Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam at the routine daily press meet on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, 281 people were discharged after recovering from the virus in various isolation centers today. With this, the total number of recovery has reached 18,631. The recovery rate now stands at 58 per cent.

A total of 11,414 people are still in quarantine with 13,155 active cases. Among the infected, 9,212 are in institutional isolation while 3, 943 are in home-based isolation.

Out of the active COVID-19 patients, 137 are admitted to ICU and 10 are receiving treatment in ventilator facility.

Meanwhile, 3 more people died of COVID-19 today, taking the death toll to 149 in the country.
