8 medics including 3 doctors test COVID-19 positive in maternity hospital

KATHMANDU: Eight medics including 3 doctors have tested coronavirus positive in the Thapathali-based Maternity Hospital.

According to Dr. Sangita Mishra, the Director of the Hospital, 8 people including 3 doctors, a nurse, a pharmacist, a technician and a security guard and a bank staff of the bank inside the hospital premises have tested coronavirus positive.

She informed that 2 of them are in the isolation established at the Teku Hospital and the rest of them are in home isolation.

However, no patients admitted in the hospital have been found coronavirus positive so far.

The hospital is carrying out the PCR of 16 persons today.

Dr. Mishra informed that despite finding the cases among the medics, the hospital has arranged not to let any service disrupted by the situation.

However, she added that the hospital has taken enough precautionary measures not to let it transmitted.

“As the case among the medics is getting common lately, it’s not unusual to find it here as well,” she said, “However, we have to take precaution not to let impact the service and the patients.”
