MFD forecasts heavy rainfall in four provinces today



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the country on Sunday.

In a weather bulletin issued for today, it stated that there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the Gandaki Province in the afternoon.

At night, there are chances of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places of Province 1, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province.

At present, the low-pressure area formed in Madhya Pradesh, India has a general impact on Nepal, the met office added.

The MFD further said that due to the possibility of heavy rains in Province 1, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and one-two places in Karnali Province, the flow of water in the rivers of these places would increase, soil erosion and landslides may occur, road and air transport might be affected and inundation might happen.
