JANAKPURDHAM: As many as three people have gone missing in floods while several settlement have been inundated in the State 2.

On Tuesday, Sukumani Thing of Chandrapur municipality-3 in Rautahat was swept away by the local Chandi River.

Likewise, the Ratu River in Mohattari swept away Birendra Kapar, 35, of Bhangaha municipality-6 as he was trying to cross the river.

Another person from Sarlahi was also swept away by a river. Meanwhile, two people caught up in the swollen Bagmati River at Bagmati municipality-12 in Sarlahi district were rescued by the police.

The people had entered the river to collect wooden logs brought by the river.

According to Makendra Mishra, State government office spokesperson, as many as 845 people of 69 families have been displaced because of floods and incessant rainfall in State 2.

Normal life in most of the districts has thrown out of gear due to rains and floods.

Crops, particularly paddy, cultivated in around 350 of land at Prasauni rural municipality 5 and 6 has been totally damaged by floods from Bangari and Dudhaura rivers.

Likewise, paddy crops planted in over 100 bigha of land at Bhodaha, Sonarniya and Khamba at Kalaiya sub metropolis-21 have been damaged by floods from Pasaha River.
