KATHMANDU: National Assembly lawmaker Komal Oli has expressed the security concern over the use of zoom for virtual conference conducted by the government.

Lawmaker Oli advised the government to use the technology developed in the country rather than using zoom and other applications for virtual conference.

Citing that security concerns are expressed worldwide over the use of zoom, Oli wondered why the government went for it.

“We are using zoom for virtual meeting, class and other works, but there are security concerns expressed about the use of zoom,” lawmaker Oli said in today’s NA session.

“If we have our own application which can accommodate 200 persons at a time, it’s better to use it,” she suggested.

Lawmaker Oli added that the National Information Center has developed a software which is more reliable and secure for official use of the government.
