30 new cases confirmed, Nepal’s COVID-19 count reaches 487

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that 30 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Nepal on Friday morning taking the tally to 487.

In a statement, Joint Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that new cases have been confirmed in Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Kapilvastu and Sarlahi districts.

The infected are 26 men and 4 women.

Friday’s new cases have been confirmed by the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu and the Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan, the Health Ministry has said.

The new cases include 15 cases from Sarlahi district with 14 men aged 22-39 years and an 18-year-old girl.

Likewise, 9 infected ones are from Kapilvastu district, including eight men aged 24-53 years and an eight-year-old girl.

Similarly, Nawalparasi district has reported four cases, including three men and a woman.

Bharatpur has reported a man and woman infected with the virus, the Health Ministry adding that the health of all the newly-infected persons is normal and they are in contact with health professionals.

Three persons have died so far from COVID-19 and 49 recovered in Nepal.
