Coronavirus kills 7, infects 1,364 Nepalis in Saudi Arabia



KATHMANDU: The number of Nepali people infected with the COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia has reached 1,364 while seven people have died from the novel virus.

According to Nepali Embassy in Riyadh, three Nepalis died in Jeddah and four in other areas.

Two hundred and ninety-nine were infected in the capital city Riyadh, 695 in eastern region, 19 in Qassim region and three have been infected in Riyadh, according to the record maintained by the Embassy.

Similarly, 176 in Jeddah, 65 in Mecca, 72 in Medina, 33 in Jazan and 2 in Tabuk  have been infected.

Among those infected are 17 women.

A total of 674 people were infected with the COVID-19 until May 12. The number has soared to 690 in the period of nine days.

The death toll from Coronavirus in Saudi Arabia has climbed to 351 while 65,077 have been infected with the Coronavirus so far.
