Italy reports 24,648 deaths, 183, 957 infection cases



KATHMANDU: Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 534 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 24,648 as of Wednesday morning.

With 2,729 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 183, 957, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 107,709 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,471 are critical. Meanwhile, 51,600 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 177,402 and infecting 2,554,568 people as of Wednesday morning.
