Govt imposes week-long closure at Banke border point



BANKE: The government has imposed a week-long closure of the Jamuna border entry-point in Banke district amid coronavirus threat on Sunday.

Chief District Office of Banke, Kumar Bahadur Khadka said that the entry point has been closed based on consensus between the local authorities of Nepal and India.

Khadka said that the authorities have suspended the movement of the people vie the border point in their bid to control the novel coronavirus spread.

“The closure will be in effect for a week,” CDO Khadka said adding, if necessary, further steps will be taken after a week.

However, trucks carrying essentials will not be stopped, he informed.
