Sandeep Lamichhane extends monetary support to cricket stadium

KATHMANDU: Renowned cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has provided financial assistance to the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation.

The leg-spinner Lamichhane handed Rs 70 thousand to the Foundation which is on a mission to construct a cricket stadium in Bharatpur of Chitwan district.

He had announced while playing a match under the ICC World Cup Cricket League II held at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground earlier this month that he would provide the amount of each wicket he took for the construction of the stadium.

He had declared that he would contribute 8,848 for every wicket he took.  Sandeep took eight wickets in four matches against Oman and America.

He handed over the amount to Foundation chair Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and vice-chair Kunjana Ghimire (Suntali).

Sandeep is also the goodwill ambassador for the stadium construction.
