Aaha Rara Gold Cup prize amount increased

POKHARA: The prize amount of the ‘National and International Inter-Club Aaha Rara Gold Cup’ football championship has been increased.

The 18th edition of the championship is taking place in Pokhara from March 5 to 14.

The organizer of the championship, Sahara Club Pokhara, announced through a press conference here today that the winner of the championship will bag Rs 1 million 1 thousand and the first runner-up team Rs 501 thousand this year.

Last year, the winner got Rs 801 thousand and the first runner up Rs 401 thousand.
According to Club president Keshav Bahadur Thapa, the highest number of goal scorer will bag Rs 25 thousand while the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and coach will each get Rs 15 thousand. Similarly, the ‘man of the match’ of every game will bag Rs 5,000.

Thapa stated that one national football team player would be felicitated with the ‘Best National Football Player Honor 2020’, comprising a purse of Rs 35 thousand, a certificate and a shawl as a mark of honor.

Ten teams including the defending champions Three Star Club, the defending first runner-up Tribhuvan Army Club, Manang Marsyangdi Club, Brigade Boys Club, Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Sankata Club, Jhapa 11 Football Club, Gangtok City Football Club India and the organizer Sahara Club Pokhara are competing in the championship.
