One-way traffic system at 10 places in capital

KATHMANDU: The government has introduced various programs to systematically manage traffic system in the Kathmandu Valley.

A cabinet meeting held on December 31 last year had introduced ‘Kathmandu Valley Traffic Management and Pollution Control Action Plan 2076’.

According to the action plan, four-wheelers have been banned along Chhetrapati-JP School road section. It has been declared ‘one-way’. Similarly, Bag Bazaar to Putalisadak, Kumari junction to Kamaladi, Padmodaya to Bijuli Bazaar, Singha Durbar Southern Gate to Maitighar have been declared ‘one way’.

The one-way traffic system has been imposed on 10 road sections in the capital.

Likewise, an arrangement has been made to install CCTV cameras at 124 places.  Currently, CCTV cameras have been fixed at 107 places in the Kathmandu Valley.
