Relay hunger strike demanding statute implementation

KATHMANDU: Nepal Student Union (NSU), a student wing of Nepali Congress, has staged a relay hunger strike demanding implementation of the NSU’s statute.

The NSU leaders have been piling pressure on the party through the relay hunger strike charging that the party did not implement its statue despite endorsement by the Central Working Committee of the party.

As per the provision laid down in the NUS’s statute, candidate of NUS presidential candidate should not cross 32 years.

The party is uncertain whether to form a central ad-hoc committee of the NSU in line with the statute.

Some NSU leaders have been staging a relay hunger strike at the Central Party Office in Sanepa for the last 36 days demanding implementation of the statute.
