Don’t get tempted by power, dissolution of HoR “unconstitutional”: NC

KATHMANDU: All four leaders taking part in the ongoing central working committee meeting of the main ppposition party Nepali Congress (NC) have objected to the KP Oli-led government’s dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

According to NC sources, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Central Committee members Mahesh Acharya, Dr. Narayan Khadka among others, criticized PM Oli’s move and opined that not only Oli all communists are responsible for the current political crisis.

The source informed that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba denounced the dissolution of House of Representatives in his opening remark on the meeting.

Likewise, senior leader Poudel, who spoke after Deuba, lambasted the move and reiterated that NC should stick to the democratic norms and values and should not subject to temptation for power.

Joint Secretary of the Party Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat told the attendees that the party agreed unanimously that the dissolution was unconstitutional and added that the Meeting would make next concrete strategy for the moves ahead.

NC meeting will resume on Wednesday again.
