Prachanda reaches Pulchowk to coax Home Minister Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has met with Secretariat member and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa at the latter’s official residence in Pulchowk on Tuesday morning.

Prachanda went to Pulchowk to coax Thapa to bring him into his camp few hours before the central committee meeting of the party which is scheduled to begin at 1 pm today.

During the meeting, Prachanda urged Thapa not to support the unconstitutional and undemocratic move taken by the Oli faction and stand united against Oli arguing that the parliament dissolution is against the people’s mandate, said an NCP source.

Seven ministers of Dahal-Nepal faction have already resigned from their posts accusing Prime Minister Oli of taking an unconstitutional move.

Thapa and Lekhraj Bhatta who represent the then CPN (Maoist Center) are still in support of Oli.
