Police nab 72 gamblers in Tanahun



TANAHUN: Police have so far arrested 72 gamblers from different places in Tanahun during the festival.

According to Tanahun Deputy Superintendent of Police Yuvaraj Timilsena, police have recovered Rs. 740,000 so far during raids.

He said that they were arrested from Dumre, Belchautara, Bhanu Municipality, Byas Municipality, Shuklagandaki Municipality, Bandipur, and other places in the district.

He said that a case has been registered against the arrested gamblers, but an order is yet to be made.

They could be imprisoned for up to three months and fined up to Rs 30,000 or both as per the existing law.
