Foundation stone for 394 hospitals to be laid on Nov 30



KATHMANDU: The government is going to lay a foundation stone for the construction of hospitals at 394 local levels without hospitals with the aim of providing basic health services to all citizens.

For the first time in the history of the physical construction of the country, the foundation stone of such a large number of infrastructure projects is being laid.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that the preparation of laying the foundation stone of the hospital at the local level has reached the final stage under the government’s plan to build basic hospitals at all local levels with the objective of ensuring that no citizen is deprived of basic health services.

According to the Ministry of Health, the preparations for laying the foundation stone on November 30 for 394 local level hospitals have reached the final stage, Gorkhapatra Daily reported on Sunday.

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has already granted permission to the Ministry of Health and Population to move forward with infrastructure development worth Rs 57.97 billion in this regard.

The policies and programs for the fiscal year, 2020/21 has mentioned the establishment of five-to-15-bed basic hospitals at all local levels of the country.
