Govt urges stakeholders to implement clean feed from tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The government urged all stakeholders concerned to implement the clean feed (operation of foreign TV channels without advertisement) as per the Advertisement (Regulation) Act, 2076 and Regulation, 2077 from tomorrow.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reminded that the government had already formed the advertisement board for the implementation of the law.

All concerned stakeholders are therefore urged to implement the Act in letter and spirit. Otherwise, the Ministry would take punitive measures.

The Act has banned the Nepali media from using foreign advertisements with dubbing. Similarly, the associations that made a contract with foreign channels for the broadcast with downlink were provided a year’s time to ensure clean feed.
