One killed in Lalitpur hit-and-run case



KATHMANDU:  A  person has died after being hit by a pick-up van near Balkumari bridge in Lalitpur district on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Babukaji Maharjan of Lalitpur. Another 70-year-old man sustained injuries in the hit-and-run incident.

The pick-up van, Ba 12 Cha 4228, had fled the scene after hitting them while they were out in the run.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tek Prasad Rai, Chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur,  said the van  has been taken under control from Kalopool while  the driver is still at large.

Vatlal Maharjan, 70, who sustained injuried in the accident, is undergoing treatment at B and B Hospital, said police.
