KATHMANDU: Royal Challengers Bangalore has defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday night.
In the 39th match held in Abu Dhabi, Bangalore reached the target of paltry 85 runs set by Kolkata in 13.3 overs, losing two wickets.
Bangalore’s D Padikkal top-scored with 25 runs including three fours off 17 balls while captain Virat Kohli and Gurkeerat Singh scored 18 and 21 not out runs, respectively.
Earlier, electing to bat first after losing the toss, Kolkata notched up 84 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Kolkata’s captain EJG Morgan made highest 30 runs including three fours and one six off 34 balls.
Banglore’s Mohammed Siraj and YS Chahal claimed three and two wickets of Kolkata respectively.
With this win, Bangalore is in the second position with 14 points from 10 games while Kolkata is in the fourth position with 10 points.
