Four sub-committees formed to study national economy



KATHMANDU: Four sub-committees have been formed to study the economic situation of the country since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives (HoR) today formed these committees.
The newly formed sub-committees are Public Expenditure, Procurement Investment and National Pride Projects Management, Revenue Leakage, Revenue Arrears and Revenue Administration, Bank and Financial Institutions and Public Corporations Study.

Following the meeting committee, President Krishna Prasad Dahal shared that these sub-committees were formed to give suggestions to the government after proper study in these respective areas adversely affected by the pandemic.

Speaking in the meeting, former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai pointed out the need for an extensive study of economic politics in the country.

Similarly, former Finance Minister Surendra Pandey also opined to study economic politics and all related dimensions.

Likewise, former Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki suggested carrying out a study on economics and the government’s economic policy.
