Monsoon active again, rainfall predicted for five more days



KATHMANDU: Rainfall has been expected across the country for five more days owing to the westerly low-pressure belt.

The low-pressure belt is moving from northeast of the Bay of Bengal to the northwest causing rain in most parts of the country. The Tarai region is to witness a windstorm as well.

Meteorologist at Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Raju Pradhananga, said, “Although the monsoon generally ends on September 23 in Nepal, the shift of low-pressure belt to the northwest from the Bay of Bengal is causing rainfall.

The Weather Forecasting Division also warned of a high level of water in the rivers, so the people are urged to maintain alert on the activities on the riverbank till September 27.
