294 Nepalis return home from Qatar



DOHA: A total of 294 Nepalis stranded in Qatar owing to the coronavirus and other reasons returned home on Tuesday.

They returned to Nepal through 41st and 42nd flights with the coordination of the Nepali Embassy in Doha and the facilitation of the Government of Nepal.

Praveen Bhattarai, Second Secretary at the Nepali Embassy in Qatar said that 139 people returned to Kathmandu on a flight of Nepal Airlines and 155 on a flight of Himalaya Airlines.

According to Nepali Ambassador to Qatar Dr. Narad Nath Bharadwaj, more than 7,000 Nepalis have returned home from Qatar so far and more than 17,000 are waiting to be rescued.
