State-1 has 27% lesser pandemic recovery than national average

BIRATNAGAR: The recovery rate of COVID-19 pandemic patients in State-1 is less than the national average.

The current recovery rate in the State is 27 % lesser than national average.

According to the latest data available from Corona Information Desk of the State-1 Government, out of the 5,693 pandemic patients, 2552 have been discharged after recovering from the respiratory disease which stands at around 44.83%.

According to worldometers.info, which tracks pandemic data of every country, Nepal’s recovery rate is more than 72 per cent.

Out of total infected of 65,276 as of Tuesday morning, 47,238 have recovered which is close to 72.36 per cent.

Death rate of State-1 is also higher than national average. In State-1, 56 patients have succumbed to this deadly pandemic making death tally of 0.983 per cent.

On national level, the death rate is 0.6541 per cent. As of Tuesday morning, 427 patients have died owing to COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal.

State health officials have not made formal conclusion about factors behind lesser recovery rate and higher death rate compared to national average in the State.

However, weeks ago, speaking to RSS over phone, Chief of Public Health Division at the Social Development Ministry in State-1, Dr Suresh Mehta had said that it was not time to draw conclusion.
