Province 2 witnesses 189 coronavirus cases, 3 deaths in last 24 hrs



JANAKPURDHAM: Province 2 witnessed 189 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday making the coronavirus case tally 8,520 till date.

According to Bijaya Jha, a Senior Public Health Administrator of Province Health Directorate, in the swabs tested in National Public Health Laboratory Kathmandu, Province Public Health Laboratory Janakpur, Narayani Sub-regional Hospital Birgunj and Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital Rajbiraj 189 cases came out with coronavirus positive results.

Jha reported that Parsa has got the highest number of cases today. It witnessed 57 cases today whereas Bara witnessed 35, Siraha 34, Mahottari 24, Dhanusha 21, Sarlahi 11, Saptari 5 and Rautahat 2 cases on Saturday.

According to the Directorate, the Province witnessed three COVID-19 deaths in last 24 hours. Among the new deaths include two from Birgunj, Parsa and one from Mirchaiya, Siraha.

With this number of coronavirus deaths in the Province has reached 59.

A total of 132 COVID-19 patients including 73 females and 59 males got discharged after recovery today.
