Kathmandu Valley reports 216 new coronavirus cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 216 more people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Saturday afternoon, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that 160 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 50 in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu Valley has been witnessing a spike in coronavirus cases of late. A week-long prohibitory order has been clamped in the Valley to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

The COVID-19 national tally reached 31,117 with 634 new cases on Saturday.

Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 146 after nine deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
