NCP taskforce meeting underway at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the taskforce formed by ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to settle the intra-party dispute is taking place at Prime Minister’s Official resident in Baluwatar.

According to sources, the meeting will give a final touch to their report today.

On August 14, the heavyweights had formed the taskforce and entrusted it with the mandate to suggest a solution to the beleaguered NCP within a week.

This is the fifth meeting the taskforce is taking place today. Earlier, it met on last Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The taskforce is likely to submit the report to Prime Minister KP Olie and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal since the differences are almost ironed out.

According to a member of the taskforce, the solution will be sought without forcing the Prime Minister to step down from his posts of PM and  party chairman.

However, the report is likely to suggest reshuffling the cabinet and make strong recommendations regarding how to improve the government’s performance in the days ahead.
