Communist leader Barman Budha passes away



KATHMANDU: Former lawmaker and Nepal Communist Party leader Barman Budha has passed away. He was 90.

Originally from Rolpa, Budha breathed his last in the course of treatment at Patan Hospital in Lalitpur on Wednesday morning.

Budha had been elected to the House of Representatives from Rolpa-1 in the elections held in 2048 BS, representing Rastriya Janamorcha.

NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Budha.

Issuing a condolence note on Wednesday morning, Dahal has said he has been deeply afflicted due to Budha’s demise.

Budha had been bed-ridden since the past one year. He had been suffering from jaundice.

His final rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today itself, according to his family sources.
