Sexagenarian dies from coronavirus in Dharan



KATHMANDU: A sexagenarian has died from coronavirus while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

Shashi Bhushan Jha, 60, of Mahottari who was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital on July 16 succumbed to the virus on Tuesday night, said Pro. Dr. Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, chief at the Department of Medicine.

The PCR report of the deceased came out positive, said Dr Sharma. His body has been kept at the hospital. Preparations are underway to dispose the body of the deceased, informed Police Inspector Hem Raj Oli of Area Police Office, Dharan.

Earlier, 73-year-old Ram Krishna Das had died from the virus at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
